Although Christmas is getting gloomier by the year here in the Philippines, people all over the world are getting excited with United State's new President-Elect Barack Obama. Iwas atching the news just today and not only people in the United states, but people from Africa and here in the Philippines are Celebrating Obama's Victory. Obama's word "This is your victory" is being takaen to heart by these people. Newly born babies are being named after him. Sand images were being painted even after he won. Newspapers were sold out by everyone wanting to have "a piece of History". Everyone now looks up to him as if he was the savior of America and the world. His speech "Change has come to America" will be quoted for generations to come, being the first Black President. But how will this "change" affect the Philippines?
Even with all this Joy most of us here working for callcenters are not as happy. A few months ago, during a debate between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. Obama made his stand clear that he was against Outsourcing. http://www.rediff.com/money/2008/feb/27bpo.htm It's been Only a few days since Obama was elected. No action regarding this matter is seen for now. But with all the jobs provided by outsouorcing and callcenters here in the philippines, having Obama won the presidency might not be so good a deal for the Philippine Economy, and to Filipinoes in general.
