First week with HP

So how was my first week of taking calls for HP printer support?
I would say it went pretty well. I sold over $100 and resolved most of the calls. Had a 2-hour and a half call with a lady who though I didn't know what I was doing (which I really didn't) but finally got to fix her not printing Issue.

How was my sales?
I would say selling AVON again taught me a lot of good stuff when it comes to selling. I don't feel guilty about it anymore. When I was with Dell selling kinda made me feel guilty. I had the wrong impression when it came to money back then. Thanks to reading BoSanchez.ph I learned that receiving money and selling isn't a bad thing. It's actually a good thing and can be seen as blessing of abundance. Thanks kuya Bo.

How's my christian life?
I'm doing a lot better than I did last year. I've been going to church more frequently now and am starting to get along with most church members. I met a brother who studied at AUP before but stopped going to church when he got married at an early age and had to work a lot for his family. He's only started going back recently and we shared trials and experiences with each other. Going to church really does fortify one's faith.

How's my blogs?
It's okay, not as good as my run last year, but in a few months I'm sure it'll all work out.

Percy Jackson Rocks!

I was a bit skeptic about the books at first. I liked the movie too much that I felt that if I read the books it would ruin it. I guess I was wrong, because I've just found my new favorite author.

What I've liked about the Percy Jackson series is that the books are told from a first person point of view, Percy Jackson's point of view. It's what I liked about the twilight series and it's also probably why readers could easily relate to them. The theme is also similar to Neil Gaiman's American gods. What are the ancient gods up to in this modern world if the had really existed. Rick Riordan makes the entire experience so fun.  You'll easily fall in-love with the characters and you'll never look at ADHD the same way again.

After the last Percy Jackson book, the adventure continues with Heroes of Olympus set in the same universe with different main characters and a lot of twists. Unfortunately the storytelling style is changed to third-person point of view instead. I didn't quite like it at first, but as soon as I read Percy Jackson's name that's when the fun starts.

I guess I prefer reading teen fantasy novels. I find it more enjoyable. And what I like most about Rick Riordan is that his official blog is a blogspot blog! So please visit his blog. Anyone who could write something as fun as Percy Jackson is sure to be a nice guy.

Training and Valentines

Mouse Hunt's way of saying Happy Valentines
Training
So I've done nothing this past month but to focus on HP training and do a bit of mouse hunting on the side. Those new HP printers should never be underestimated.

Valentines
Every time I make sure to give flowers to my wife during this date of the year. Unfortunately due to my schedule I'm not sure where I can buy flowers.

Percy Jackson
As a diversion I decided to catch up on the Percy Jackson book series. The movie was fun, so I thought the books would be better and I wasn't mistaken. I just finished the fourth one this morning and I can't wait the read the last one when I get home. The author sure knows how to make cliffhanger endings.

Mousehunt
I got both my brother playing Mouse Hunt, which was a surprise because I thought they'd get bored with it easily. They loved playing it so much they kept bugging me for tips on items and trap setups. I love it when me and my bros. love the same game. It's a brother bonding thing.

Anyway, time to start the last week of training. It's make or break. You get terminated if you don't pass. So just in case I'll have my resume updated and printed first thing tomorrow.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

The power of words

I was invited last week to give a small talk to our church during the vesper meeting Friday night. I was flattered and had no clue what to say since it's been years since I've spoken in church. Finally, with a lot of prayer, I ended up with a talk entitled,"The power of words in out lives". I didn't get much time to prepare so I did most of it impromptu with just the stock verses I had. Here's a quick outline.

Introduction:
-God created the world with just his spoken words. Since we were created in God's image we have inherited a bit of this power.
I. We can bless others through words
- Story of Esau and Jacob fighting over Isaac's blessings. (mere words?)
II. We can curse others through words.
- The only blessings left for Esau was that we would serve his brother.!
III.Scientific evidence of  the power of words. (Dr. Masaru Emoto)
IV. By their words you will know them.
V. Change your words, change your life.
VI. Words we say to our children.
V. Prayer.

And since this was my first time to speak in public for a very long time I'd say I pretty much sucked. To my own point of view anyway. But the message was more important than my delivery. I prayed to God long and hard that he use me during that talk.
Surprisingly, I received nothing but praises for that night. "It was so inspiring", "such an eye opener", "I didn't know you had that kind of talent".
I guess that's how God works. Even when you think you did things in a stupid way, perhaps that's exactly how he wants you to do it. What's best for you might be different than the best God has in mind for you.
The biggest surprise is that I'm invited to give another talk the next few months, this time during the main event of divine service with a bigger audience. *Gulp* I'm actually going to prepare better this time with power point slides and all. But I'll still depend on God on this one. Somehow I feel I always get the best results whenever I do things like this under divine supervision.

Happy Sabbath!
