New Moon

New moon

Last monday I watched New Moon with my wife. I wasn't expecting much from it, it's good thing I didn't. Like most of books that I've read that gets turned into a movie, New Moon wasn't any different. The movie lacked excitement and drama. So why did I still watch it? Well being a twilight fan, I couldn't not watch it even thought I knew it wouldn't be very nice.

The last parts of the movie was nice though when Jacob and Edward meet again, this time as a Vampire and a Quileute Werewolf. It was nice that they've added that part and that they ended the movie with "Marry Me." Oops.. Sori for the spoiler, if ever that was one.

For me the movie was just so-so. For my wife, the movie was awesome. It turns out that NEW MOON is one of the most talked about movie for college girls these days. She was proud to be one of the first in her class to get to watch it.

SM fairview had 5 Cinemas dedicated to NEW MOON and it's one time viewing only. We got to watch the earliest slot and there wasn't that much people at all. Probably just a dozen or so. But after the movie on our way out, the people in-line outside reminded me of the last weeks of registration for the COMELEC. I was like, "WOW!" All this for NEW MOON? And on a monday morning?!

So what did of think of the movie? Any violent reactions?. All this for NEW MOON? And on a monday morning?!

So what did of think of the movie? Any violent reactions?

The biggest gathering of anime enthusiasts happened last weekend in Singapore.

AFA

Some of the popular names in the Anime commmunity were there. May'n, the singing voice of Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier, Yoshiki Fuyuki the voice of Nekki Basara in Macross 7 also the guy who sung the OP theme for Busou Renkin. There were also the K-On girls. Danny Choo, the most popular japanese lifestyle blogger whose blog is visited by over 2 million people daily from around the world. And ofcourse there's Alodia and her sister Ashley who competed for the Philippine Cosplay team in the AFA'09 Cosplay Competition. One of the competition's judge was Kaname, who I just recently found out was a very popular cosplayer in Japan. And I can't believe I wasn't there! I thought seeing Alodia and Hard Gay back in Shizen Orchestra was so cool. But knowing these personalities were all together in the same event makes me fell sad that I couldn't get to go. Well, Singapore is so, so far away. Probably in a few years I'll get to attend but i'm not sure It'll be as exciting as this year. Afterall, it's only this time around that the Philippines "cosplay queen" Alodia, gets to compete for our country. We could've won. I mean the winning team wasn't all that great either.

Overtimes should be banned!

Finally, after 3 weeks of constant Overtimes (even restday OT's!), I get to have a rest day. But of all the days my body decided to get sick today, my first rest day in 3 weeks! Thank you TELETECH for almost working me to death!

Sadly, the biggest events of the year just passed by without me getting to blog about them. Too much to blog and so little time:

*Manny Pacquiao wins his 7th world title.
*Manny Villar and Loren Legarda pair up.
*Gibo Teodoro and Edu Manzano too.
*I just got my first Credit Card!
*New moon sucked (as expected), but my wife loved it.
*Anime Festival Asia 2009 - The biggest anime con in ASEAN.
*Great anime's this season.
*Owl city - great music!
*Yoshiki Fukuyama - Voice behind some of anime's great OST.
*etc.

Well, I finally got my Vacation leave approved on my B-day so i'll have all the time to go blogging. Whahaha! I feel so alive whenever I get to blog. No wonder I've been a bit edgy these past few days. I also missed the Mangaholix event. I wonder now if I should go to AME no Jidai, Domination 4, or Hero Nation.

What anicon event do you plan to go to before the year ends? >_<"

The Lost Symbol

So, i finally got myself a copy of THE LOST SYMBOL, Dan Browns latest book. Like his first two books I'm enjoying every bit of it. Hehe.. I've only ready 22 pages so far but I'm only proud to have a copy. One of the best quotes I've read so far was when Robert Langdon was speaking if front of his class about masons and cults and stuff and he had this to say about his "cult":

“Don’t tell anyone, but on the pagan day
of the sun god Ra, I kneel at the foot of an ancient instrument of torture and consume ritualistic symbols of
blood and flesh.”

The class looked horrified.

“And if any of you care to join me, come to the Harvard chapel on Sunday, kneel beneath
the crucifix, and take Holy Communion.”

Whahahahaha! That was so much fun! I've only read a few pages but I'm already loving it. Will probably blog more about this soon.

Ondoy aftermath: Good or bad?

Went to Marikina yesterday with my wifey to visit my siblings-in-law. It's been like too weeks or so since Typhoon Ondoy's onslaught. That time, most of the Marikina got flooded really bad. Water went up as high as 2 stories. The victims took refuge in nearby unaffected schools turned relief centers. After the flood, knee-deep mud was left behind. So we went to the city thinking that my in-laws were in the worst condition imaginable.

When we got there, it did look bad, but the place was lively. the mud was still everywhere, but everyone was cleaning and they were all wearing boots. Where did they get the boots? How could they even afford it in the first place? Every store in the market place was doing bussiness like nothing happened. The people buying groceries were also a plenty. Sure, the streets look awfully muddy, and the houses and builings still had residues tracing the walls up to the second floor. I can't imagine what I'd do If my home flooded.

It seems that a certain rich chinese philantrophist donated all those boots and offered 400 pesos per day wages to anyone willing to help the clean-up effort. The Victims of the flood were more than glad to be paid for cleaning up their own neighborhood. most people there were unemploed in the first place, so in a sense they have more money now than they had before. Then there's the free clothes and free food from the overflowing relief goods given away everyday. That scene was just so so different from what the news says on TV. Not mention the ones that do have jobs and were qualified for calimity loans up to php 30,000. Another plus is that everyone in that area would be given free housing and relocated to Sta. Rosa Laguna! Gee, talk about the pot of gold at the end of the raibow after the rain. >_<:

Anyway, instead of helping out the supposedly unfortunate victims of in Marikina, we were instead treated to an eat all you can feast of Beef Caldereta, cakes, and leche flan, by our in-laws.
How cool or uncool is that?!

Photo Walk 1: SM fairview (incomplete)

I don't go anywhere much these days. I'm tired from work, and just want to get home to my comfy bed. The closest place to my work is SM fairview. I took these shots using a not-so-high-end digicam. Just wanted to do this for a while but i never had the time nor the equipment. Now, I still don't have both so this I guess would for now.

Photobucket

I got this idea from Mr. Danny Choo. Great guy. It's when he writes his Photowalk articles that he express his thought and ideas about a lot of things.

Photobucket

Although there were lots of nice places in this mall, my favorite spot has always been the foodcourt. You can sit down for free without having to order anything, and you can get free drinks of water. Bottled water costs 15-20 pesos in the mall. I feel so poor all of a sudden. >_<;

Photobucket

It was just a little over year ago when I felt really sorry for myself. I grew up around this area. This mall was my hang-out since I was in highschool. That was like, more than ten years ago. I felt like there was no progress in my life. Nothing's changed. Because of wrong decisions I've lost everything I worked hard for and lost all hope of this getting any better. I'm stuck in this place.

Photobucket

But after all this time things started getting better. I saw my life in the old mall. They started renovating just recently. Making it look more like Mall of Asia. I felt hope. My life also started to feel better.

Crepe 1

Old bad, self-destructive habits were gone,

Photobucket

I felt new. I felt peace. I'm happy with my family.

Photobucket

Before, all I thought about was all the pleasurable things in life. Which was bad for me. The more I tried to please myself the more I started to hate myself.

Photobucket

But things started to change for me just recently. I started to appreciate life in a different way. I decided not to be a slave of pleasure. Not to waste any money on entertainment.

Photobucket

I was surprised how much anime and food I could get for free even though I had so little money.

Photobucket

I read in the Bible before that the "poor are blessed." And that "all thing work for good for those who believe in the Lord". I never realised it's true meaning until I felt the hardship of work and supporting my own family. It's a trully remarkable experience.

Thug Story - Taylor Swift ft. T-Pain

Who would've thought the gorgeous voice that brought us hits Love Story and White Horse could be "..rapping hard core." This would be funniest and cutest song i've heard this season. It's so cute!! T-pain and T-swizzie on the same track.

"you don't wanna fight me.. in my extra-small white tee." and "..she didn't even swear.." was just hilarious. I've been listening to this song ten times today and I still can't get enough. Great job T-Swizzie! >_<;

Thug Story lyrics
Taylor Swift Ft. T-Pain

[T-PAIN]
Ay Ay
T-Swizzle (T-Swizzle)
And T-Pizzle (T-Pizzle)

[TAYLOR SWIFT]
I'm like 8 foot 4
Blonde hair to the floor
You shawtys never thought I dreamed about rappin hardcore
No I ain't got a gun
No I never really ever been in a club
Still live with my parents
But I'm still a thug
I'm so gangster you can find me baking cookies at night
You out clubbin' but I just made caramel delights
T-Swift and T-Pain rappin on the same track
It's a thug story, tell me can you handle that?

[BOTH] (T-Pain) Taylor Swift
(I had a dream last night) I had a dream last night
I had high-top Nikes. I had
(Diamonds in my mouth) Diamonds in my mouth
And(Diamonds on my mic) Diamonds on my mic
By the time I woke I was singing,
(I'm on a boat)
Cause Ima,
Singer turned rapper
(Shawty Ima make ya)
Straight to the top yo
(Shawty Ima take ya)
You can call me T-Sweezy
Now I'm a rap star
(Hey, it's a thug story, now tell em who you are
Singer turned gangsta)
You don't wanna fight me
(Straight to the top)
In my extra small white-tee
(T-Swift and T-Pain all up on the same track
It's a thug story, now can you get with that?)
What, What
I knit sweaters yo
What, what
Don't test me *bleep*
Hey, hold on. Hold on.
I didn't even say anything.
(What?)
I didn't even, I said yo.
(Yo?)
You guys bleeped me and I didn't even say anything, I didn't even swear.
(She didn't, She didn't, She didn't even swear.)
Hello? Ughhh.

Anime List this Season: Fall 2009

Tadaa!! The anime list for this season.

Fall 2009

Arrgggh!!! So much anime, So little time!

Hmm.. I think I'll start with "A Certain Scientific Railgun (To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou)", a spin-off of one of the better anime's I've watched a few seasons ago "To Aru Majutsu no Index" I think it roughly translates as "A Certain Magical Index", or something like that.

Think I'll review those that I actually get to watch.. WINTER SONATA looks interesting. >.<

Doing school projects.. I kinda missed it. (ugh.. the flood)

So I've been busy these past few days. Even with classes are out for the week because of the storm, it doesn't change the fact that the semester is almost over for college students here in the Philippines. With that said submission for term-papers, projects, and preparation for the Final Exam are what's occupying 50% of the minds of college students. The other 50% they're thinking of love life, the lastest gossip, text-mates, personal problems.. Hmm.. Well, maybe not all.

I just suddenly recalled the flood victims.. I get all depressed whenever I remember them. My wife's relatives in Marikina were also affected after being flooded up to the second floor their house and people crossing and holding on electrical lines to survive. The families of two of her brothers are still staying in evacuation centers and dependent on relief goods.

I also feel bad about how people who are trying to do their best to help the victims are the ones being attacked verbally by the ones they're trying to help, and also being criticized online.

Ashley Gosiengfiao, sister of popular Cosplayer Alodia wrote on her blog about the incident:
"It felt really good to be able to help. Seeing the people's predicament and how they
really needed our help made me feel like crying.
But even though that final incident occurred, the ransacking of the vehicles and the
throwing of hurtful words by some of the people who weren't able to receive anything,
even if it did discourage my team a lot, I guess it didn't stop us from feeling satisfied that we got to help nonetheless."
Photobucket
Her blog:orangeish.deviantart.com

We're all proud you and your team's efforts ms. Ashley. Keep up the good work!

Which is more then what I can say for myself. The only help I've done so far was give a few kilos of rice as my share of donation for my company's relief effort. I'll be going to marikina with my wife on wednesday. Since 13th month pay comes early for me this year, we decided to see what we can do to help in any way we can.

So for now all I can do is help my wife finish her school projects. It's weird but I'm seriously enjoying it. It's kinda cool being married to a college student.

What experiences have you had in helping flood victims?

Do you miss those college school projects? I do. hehe..

Early X-mas bonus..

Earlier today we recieved a memo from the higher-ups that the 13th month pay would be given to us a bit earlier then scheduled. The memo goes like:

"Due to the damages inflicted by Typhoon Ondoy on our Cainta and Novaliches communities, we are making an early payment of the earned portion of your 13th month bonus. If your assigned work location is Cainta or Novaliches, you will recieve the earned portion (Jan-Sept) of your 13th month bonus through a special payroll run on Wednesday..."

I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing..

It's great that I'm going to get my bonus early (More money before my BDAY) but it's sad knowing I'll be getting this cash because of a storm that destroyed the lives of hundreds of people..

It's not for me anyway, some of my colleagues affected by the flood need all the help they can get. As I'm writing this they're actually waiting for me because i promised to help them get a "CALAMATY LOAN". I never even knew there was such a thing. Gotta leave now.. c'ya.

BLACK ★ ROCK SHOOTER: Anime Pilot!

Finally after months of waiting, the anticipated B★RS anime Pilot is set to be released today SEPT 30.

I first learned about B★RS when I attended a cosplay con where there was this young lady wearing skimpy clothes, a trench coat, and holding an extremely huge gun. It was interesting when they had her pose next to HARD GAY php. Hehe..

And so I looked it up and found this really addictive song that started it all.

This was the first 3D PV voiced by vocaloid Miku Hatsune.

Now it was announced that an official anime was on the way. I couldn't help myself. The teasers were more than enough to get me excited. Here are some screen shots.

Seems like we'll get a treat on her mysterious origin..
B★RS 2

...and cool fight scenes...

B★RS 1

...and b-b-bondage?!

Hehe.. I can't wait to see it. Hopefully someone uploads a copy for torrent today. I'll even go for raws. Someone out there, please....

Is this the first time you heard about B★RS?
Did you like the video?
What do you think of her?

Typhoon Ondoy

Probably the most terrible typhoon since Typhoon Milenyo and Rosing, Typhoon Ondoy hits hard in Metro Manila.

ondoy 2

This storm is a big one according to http://www.inquirer.net/. I tried to access PAGASA's website but I got "PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED" instead. Surprise, surprise.

ondoy 1

Anime News: Unlimited Blade Works

September seems to be a great month. I just got my inspiration back and all it took was a comment in one of my previous blog. Thank you so much Ms. Papurr Cat!

Now I've been playing FATE/STAY NIGHT PC game for the past month now. I know it's an old game and it's night quite the genre I was into but my brother got me started on it and... Maybe that's a story for another blog. Anyway...

The second scenario of FATE/STAY NIGHT, Unlimited Blade Works, gets an ANIME treatment, not a series but a movie! Hoo-ha! The first scenario got me really, really bored. But unlimited blade works makes it all worth it.

The poster doesn't say much though but if you've watched the anime you'll know that UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS is the Noble Phantasm of Archer, one of the more interesting and mysterious characters in the story. All the servants' identities were all heroes from the past, some popular, some not so popular (e.g Berserker=Hercules)but archer is not a hero you will find in history books, nor is he even a hero from the past. Hints were given in the first scenario and in the anime series but UBW tells it all.
The tragic story of the servant ARCHER.

Have you you played FATE/STAY NIGHT or just watched the anime?

What scenario do you think was better: FATE, UBW, or HEAVEN'S FEEL?

Unlimited Blade Works is set for a January 23, 2010 release.

HAPPY 2nd at DELL!!!

2years! Huwaw! I never imagined I could endure 2 long years working for a computer company. I never was computer savvy to begin with. Now I know more about fixing computers than my cousin who graduated BS Computer Science. Hehe.. Bragging aside, this past two years has been quite an experience. I've been transferred to different departments many times now but it feels great being one of the few people still left here. Most employees have moved on to other companies. I don't see myself leaving anytime soon though, and since it's Payday today, I think i'll treat myself the the new TERIYAKI BOY that just opened in the mall nearby.

Windows 7- Training (complete!)

Today was the last day of our WINDOWS 7 training. We are now trained professionals for windows 7! If you're like my dad, you'd be surprised that another windows is coming out this October 2009. That's right, and just when WINDOWS VISTA just came out 2007. Hmm.. Let's just say that a lot of people weren't satisfied with WINDOWS VISTA and WINDOWS 7 is Microsoft's way of appeasing the the angry mod. So now we have WINDOWS 7. Said to be better and faster than VISTA. They realeased a BETA version for a limited time to see how people would react first. Hehehe.. I guess people really learn from ther mistakes.

Here's a Video of what Windows 7 in action and great features.

For more information on the features Visit the home page:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/features/default.aspx

Have you even tried using VISTA? My dad hasn't, and my experience with VISTA hasn't made me too enthusiastic about it either but using Win7 is just too cool not share.

So have you already tried WIN7?
Do you think Win7 is better than VISTA?

My brute! Gahrrr!

I always liked playing online games that had that chibi anime-style characters i'm so fond of. And now our office is plagued by the mybrute fever.
mybrute-pupils
Hehehe... A kawaii flash-based game where all you have to do is get a brute warrior character and use it to fight everyday. It won't sound much when I tell you you could only challenge other characters 6 times when you first create the character and 3 times during the following days. But there's no limit to how many characters would dare challenge you.

Managing Websites

I've always thought that earning money on the web was really cool. I've known people at work who maintain their own website and so I thought i'd try my hand on it. I've been at it for a few weeks now and it's not as easy as I thought it would be. First you've got to get web hosting and a Domain name. Then there's the planning of the content of the website and maintainance and frequently updating. Then you've got to get some ads to post on your site so you can earn some money. Phew...! I woner if this line of work suits me or not. Planning seems to be the hardest part. I tried skipping it and it didn't turn out too well. People who learn this on their own sure are talented or just have a lot time in their hands. There's just so much to learn! HTML, CSS, FLASH, PHP, SQL, and so sooo much more! I almost want to give up, but i'm kinda enjoying myself. Reading source codes on my free time makes me sound more geeky-er than I already am. hehe.. I'll post my sites here once I have have them just the way I like them.

Do you have your own website? Please e-mail me at krusnick_05@yahoo.com and share tips. Thanks. :)

Midnight Sun (Twilight Saga book 5 or Twilight: the Edward Cullen perspective)

Have you heard of the 5th book of the Twilight Saga?yup therew was supposed to be one, but somehow somebody got a hold of the unfinished manuscript and decided to spread it in web. Obviously the Author was so enraged she decided to postpone writing the book. A pitty though, I really enjoyed reading the unfinished work. And I think people would've still bought the book after it was finished. To be fair she posted a link on her website for her fans to have a chance to read it too.

August 2009 update.

I was suprised when I saw my last post was way back in APRIL. Didn't notice I've been off the radar that long. So much has happened in the past few months. Had my wife enrolled to college, we decided move to a new apartment and have my wife's mom live with us, dozens of guys i knew well have resigned doubling my work load (ugh..), and been to 2 anime/cosplay
conventions (oh yeah!). Been really busy lately. I've upgraded my broadband connection from 512kbs to 1Mbps giving me more time for blogging, downloading anime episode and sound tracks, online gaming, and learning whole sorts of stuff. Also for the sake of building raport with customers at work i've decide to start a new BLOG mbl4starters.blogspot.com in an attempt to learn more of Major League Baseball. I'm planning to add more blogs. I've been really impressed and insipred by http://www.alodiagosiengfiao.com/ and http://www.dannychoo.com/ this guy is awesome. Ofcourse i'm not as cool as these people, I don't even write as cool as they do, but I like writing my thoughts and experiences. So let's see how long i can keep it up this season. Gambatte yo!

I hate Eclipse...

I'm already on the 3rd book of the Twilight novels. I'm hating it right now.. The second book was fun. My most favorite Bella quote was when she said "Bite me!" to Alice because of her eagerness to become a vampire. Hahaha! that got me laughing for hours. But now I just read my most hated Bella Quote. Something she said that makes me really, really furious. I hate is so much that I just want to stop reading this crappy part and just hope Jacob dies in the battle with the newborns. The part where Jacob manipulates Bella to saying “Will you kiss me, Jacob?”,
“Kiss me, Jacob. Kiss me, and then come back.” Bah! The sly, tricky son of a b*t**! I hope you rot in hell! Bwahaha! Die Jacob! Sigh... But i guess i'll just have to endure the pain to find out what happens really next to that idiot Bella. I do wish Jacob just dies, that'll be my happy ending. Hehehe.. No offense to you Jacob fans out there.

Twilight

After months of disinterest I finally gave in to peer pressure. People at work finally got me started on the twilight saga. At first I thought, who would be interested in reading a long pictureless novel afterall i've got Unlimited sources of anime and manga from the internet! Never the less some friends got me a copy of the first book so I started reading it. I'm on book 2 now- New moon. I find it more interesting than the first one, which was just full of mushy innocent love. The second book was more painful.. tragic.. pathetic.. and I just love it! I find myself relating Edward, Bella, Jake, even Charlie, since I've got a cute little daughter who would be in highschool in the next decade or so. Have finished the book though. I'm still at the part where Bella jumped off the cliff just so she could hear another hallucination of Edward's voice. I don't know who's more pathetic, Bella with her lingering feelings for someone who dumped her, Jake with his "i'm willing to wait" attitude, or Edward who is simply fooling himself by staying away from Bella but still bothering her through "hallucinations". Hahaha! but seriously, what makes this book so appealing is the effort put on describing details on Bella thoughts. Another plus is the situation the characters are in is normal for any highschool teenager added the twist and new perspective to mythical creatures. I just love her originality with vampires and werefolves. I think I'll be done with this book by tommorow. Hoping to finish the series this month. I hope the last book doesn't dissapoint.

Spare time huh... now what?

Finally, a vacation! I've been filing a vacation leave for 3 months now and relieved to be on leave for a week. although i was hoping for it to be the first week of April but a week's paid leave is still a week's paid leave.... ok so now what am I going to do? I have no idea! Just kept filing vacation leaves out of spite. The company didn't approve my vacation leaves last newyear so i just kept pushing and pushing until... so now what the heck am I supposed to do on leave? Smallville, Heroes, and Anime marathon doesn't sound too apealing anymore. I can't even go on a spending spree because of an upcomming event this april. Hmm... This is tougher than i thought... Hmm..

More free time..

Sleepy again. Watched another 5 hours of Stargate Atlantis. No sleep. It's a good thing i've been re-assigned to Case Management where i don't have much to do but read the logs of other agents... Which gives me a lot of free time again but less money because of no overtime. (sniff..) I've had internet at home for 5 months but i decided to get rid of it. Imagine having unlimited Access to Manga, Anime, and online games.. (Drooling..) Yes I do miss it all, but i'm afraid it's been taking up too much of my time. especially my sleep time. It took a toll on me when I was diagnosed with Pneumonia a few months ago. I had to take Medical leave for 2 weeks. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to watch the latest anime in HD while streaming online. Ippo New challenger, Akikan, Regios, Skip Beat!, Toradora, Bleach, naruto and so much more! Not to mention the infinite number of manga accessible at the tip of your fingers. No, too much of a good thing is not good at all.. I decided to have the line cut. It was eating too much of my time. Time i should've spent with my wife and kids.. (oh, and Hikaru- my baby boy, can walk now. =) It was a great feeling having been able to read books, write, and draw again without the compelling attraction of an internet connection. I do miss it though. I really.. really.. really.. do. So much it's driving me crazy. Now my dad brought a series 5 disc DVD set of SG Atlantis back home.. And i'm right back where I started... Yawn.. Sleepy again. Nwei, Need get back to work.. i've got cases to scrub and agents to reprimand. Vlad out.
